General Description

These steel captive panel screws work well for securing Right Angle PCB D-Sub connectors or IDC D-Sub connectors which have clinch nuts installed. The reduced shank above the threads of the captive screw allows the screw to spin freely in the connector while still being retained so it will not easily fall out when it is not threaded into the mating connector.

Note that these aren't designed for D-Sub connectors that DON'T have a clinch nut built in, such as standard solder-cup connectors, standard Right Angle PCB connectors, or IDC connectors that have unthreaded holes instead of clinch nuts.

Winford Engineering uses these screws on some of the products which we build and sell, including the DB15 'slim' breakout board shown below in the Applications section.

These screws are sold in bags of Qty 10 or Qty 100.

Applications
